Dall'inizio del 2023, numerosi artisti e operatori culturali lavorano nell'edificio classificato Zeughaus 4 sul sito della caserma di Zurigo. Quando la polizia cantonale si è trasferita, il sito è diventato accessibile al pubblico e sarà utilizzato temporaneamente fino al 2026. Da gennaio a maggio 2023, il collettivo di architettura squadra ha creato spazi di lavoro per l'associazione Maison Shift al piano superiore dell'armeria. Gli spazi servono come centro di incontro e scambio per gli stilisti che stanno guidando la transizione verso un'industria tessile sostenibile.

L'idea di sostenibilità è stata incorporata nel processo di progettazione e costruzione realizzato dagli stessi architetti, che ha permesso anche la flessibilità e il riutilizzo coerente dei componenti. Sono stati riutilizzati materiali già disponibili in loco: I pannelli del vecchio poligono di tiro fungono da scaffali e banconi. Le vecchie scaffalature per il deposito di pneumatici sono state trasformate in pareti e mobili. Tutti i componenti possono essere rimossi e ceduti. ‍

La Badenerstrasse è una strada lunga circa cinque chilometri nella zona ovest di Zurigo. Oggi questo corridoio testimonia la vita e l'attività che la caratterizzano da sempre. Nonostante la sua intrinseca vivacità, la qualità spaziale e il design di questo corridoio lasciano molto a desiderare. Gli appassionati di bicicletta e i pendolari quotidiani trovano difficile muoversi nell'area, data l'interruzione delle piste ciclabili. Il principio della trasformazione crea una rete verde di piste ciclabili ad alta capacità che collegano diverse parti della città. Gli alberi rinfrescano le temperature della strada nei periodi caldi, promuovono la biodiversità e offrono riparo anche in caso di pioggia. I punti di attraversamento a bassa velocità consentono l'intersezione dei trasporti pubblici e delle piste ciclabili con un trasporto privato motorizzato ridotto. I punti di attraversamento sono stati progettati per essere il più piccoli possibile, seguendo le forme della curva di svolta minima e creando spazio per un parcheggio speciale per i veicoli di consegna.

Il complesso di edifici dello Château de Dompierre ha perso la sua funzione di insediamento agricolo nel XX secolo. Il progetto consiste in interventi mirati negli edifici esistenti e nei loro dintorni. L'obiettivo è quello di ripristinare l'equilibrio ecologico che regnava un tempo sul sito e di rivitalizzarlo attraverso vari usi complementari: la pratica della permacultura, la creazione di uno spazio di scambio dove organizzare conferenze e workshop nella natura, nonché residenze musicali e artistiche.

La casa rurale a Châtillon è stata costruita nel XVIII secolo come primo edificio del villaggio. Incarna l'architettura rurale tradizionale tipica della regione dell'epoca e le facciate sono infatti inserite nell'inventario del patrimonio del Cantone di Friburgo.

Fino agli anni '70 è stata abitata da un'anziana signora e dalle sue capre, che riscaldavano la casa dalla cantina. Lo spazio abitativo consisteva in una cucina, un soggiorno e una camera da letto. Il sottotetto, con il suo tetto a falde, fungeva da deposito di fieno e da essiccatoio e vi si accedeva tramite una scala dall'esterno.

Da allora, la casa è stata utilizzata come domicilio per il fine settimana dalla famiglia del nuovo proprietario basilese. La ristrutturazione interna ha l'obiettivo di rendere la casa più accogliente, dare accesso al sottotetto e preservare l'edificio a lungo termine. La facciata in legno della mansarda può essere smontata come persiana. In questo modo l'aspetto esterno dell'edificio viene conservato nel suo intero. Per la ristrutturazione sono stati utilizzati materiali tradizionali dell'epoca.

La conversione è stata un gioco di equilibrio tra una visione condivisa e la necessità di reagire continuamente all'edificio esistente. Insieme agli artigiani locali, a tanti amici e studenti che volevano acquisire un'esperienza pratica nella costruzione, abbiamo ricostruito Casa Giuseppina nel corso di quattro estati. Le numerose persone coinvolte danno vita alla casa. Stiamo dialogando su come affrontare le altre case in disuso vicine e su quali modi possiamo contribuire alla conservazione dell'insediamento.

Il villaggio di Mosogno di Sotto si trova lontano dalla strada ed ha più case che abitanti. Staccato dal centro medievale del paese si trova l'ex mulino: la "Casetta". Insieme a tanti amici e artigiani locali, i muri rimasti in disuso sono stati riqualificati in una semplice casa, in cui si convive con i cambiamenti stagionali. Il processo di costruzione è stato un gioco di equilibrio. Tutti i materiali da costruzione dovevano essere trasportati a piedi o trasportati in elicottero. La nostra presenza costante in cantiere ha permesso di apportare continui aggiustamenti all'esistente e di integrare nella ristrutturazione le componenti che non dovevano essere sostituite con urgenza. Solo pochi nuovi elementi sono stati portati dal villaggio.

Il Kulturlokal Schwarzer Peter è un luogo non commerciale, creativo e di incontro inclusivo gestito dall' associazione per lavori di strada Schwarzer Peter nel Lysbüchelareal di Basilea.

Il Kulturlokal è gestito tutto l'anno in modo partecipativo insieme ai visitatori di Schwarzer Peter e ai volontari del settore artistico, culturale e musicale di Basilea. Eventi culturali come mostre, concerti e workshop sono offerti al pubblico. L'intera offerta può essere utilizzata gratuitamente dai clienti dei lavori di strada e da tutte le parti interessate.

Il centro culturale è stato progettato come un edificio modulare temporaneo realizzato in legno e alcuni container. Gli elementi possono essere facilmente smontati e sono dimensionati per le grandezze massime di trasporto, in modo che l'edificio possa essere facilmente spostato in altri siti in futuro. Le finestre e le porte provengono da edifici demoliti e grazie alle fondamenta a tassello, non ci sono rifiuti edili.

Da oltre 80 anni la fattoria Colombera fa parte del paesaggio agricolo del Piano di Magadino. Ci è stato chiesto di avere una visione d'insieme del complesso edilizio per garantire una pianificazione strategica tra tutti i futuri interventi architettonici come la ristrutturazione dell'agriturismo e della casa agricola, la ristrutturazione e l'ampliamento del caseificio.

La casa utilizzata come residenza per la famiglia contadina si sta rivelando sempre più inadeguata a soddisfare le esigenze di spazio e di comfort richieste dalla famiglia in crescita. Per stimolare la speranza di mantenere in loco i futuri lavoratori agricoli, si è quindi deciso di promuovere un progetto di ammodernamento e ampliamento dell'edificio di residenza. Invece di costruire un nuovo edificio separando la generazione entrante da quella più anziana, si è concepito di ridefinire i confini all'interno della casa rurale, in modo mirato, attraverso l'inserimento di una nuova unità abitativa ricavando gli spazi della copertura esistente. Il nuovo design della casa multigenerazionale darà flessibilità nell'allocazione degli spazi in modo da potersi adattare "continuamente" alle mutevoli esigenze al passo con i tempi.

Il nostro progetto non affascina né per una costruzione di lusso né per i materiali ricercati, ma molto di più per l'empatia che ci ha portato la  lunga permanenza in una zona completamente estranea. Non abbiamo incontrato molte persone là fuori, ma i pochi incontri sono stati caratterizzati da grande sincerità e onestà. Il risultato è un progetto riservato, ma rispettoso, che cerca di collegare tradizione ed esigenze locali. La comunità a Tathuen aveva bisogno di un rifugio per aspettare il bus, ci siamo guardati intorno e abbiamo valutato quali materiali fossero disponibili. La pelle proviene da scarti inutilizzati, la legna dalle riserve per la costruzione dei recinti.

Attraverso il contatto con la natura, i paesaggi e i loro abitanti, cerchiamo di ispirare i visitatori della Meseta Somuncura a riflettere sulle complesse controversie sociali ed economiche che segnano l'agenda del popolo Mapuche-Tehuelche fino ad oggi. Non c'è futuro nell'architettura senza una memoria conciliatoria tra comunità in conflitto.
